Macaroon

Day 335

Macaroon
3 shots out of 5

It's official, our oldest is 14 today.  My how the years seems to fly by when you're not paying attention........not that we're not paying attention, more like too busy with four kids to sit back and take a few minutes to take in every minute.  None the less, I'm very excited that today is his birthday (I get excited every time one of my kids has a birthday really) and I look forward to celebrating him and cooking his birthday dinner.

I gave tonight's cocktail 3 shots out of 5.  I found this cocktail on a PDF from Pinnacle.  I must say that I do like this cocktail with the cookie dough vodka better then last night's cocktail with the same vodka.  As I adore my coconut rum, I rarely like to eat coconut flavored foods.  That being said, I asked my husband to try this cocktail to see if it did in fact taste like a macaroon.  He said, and I quote "Yea, it did........kind of".  There you have it, ha ha.  I'll let you be the judge....if you choose to do so.

Here is the recipe for a Macaroon:

  • 2 oz Cookie Dough Vodka
  • 1 oz coconut rum
  • 1 oz half and half
  • chocolate shavings to rim the glass
In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above except for the chocolate shavings.  Shake and strain into a chocolate shavings rimmed martini glass.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here's to liking a cookie dough vodka cocktail a bit more then the last one!

Cheers!!
